Call (262) 829-5961Mon to Fri, 7am to 5pmThe business behind the county site
Waukesha County Water Softener Co. is a trade name of ZeroGrain Water LLC, a Wisconsin company.
Through this name we take quote calls, work out a system for the water and the household in question, supply the equipment and line up the plumbing contractor.
Who does the plumbing, and what nobody does
Every installation is done by a licensed Wisconsin plumbing contractor. Wisconsin law, Wis. Stat. ch. 145, counts a softener's drain hookup as plumbing, and none of that work is done by the company itself.
Nobody is sent to a house to sell, measure or inspect. The price comes out of one call, placed any weekday from 7am to 5pm, and the plumber, on install day, is the first person to come to the door.
Why one site for the whole county
Waukesha County does not have one water. New Berlin's city system switched to Lake Michigan water in 2009 and the City of Waukesha followed in 2023, while the groundwater systems around them publish from about 14 grains to 35 and private wells publish nothing.
A county site can set those figures side by side, which makes it easier to see where a particular house fits. It serves homes throughout the county, among them Brookfield, Pewaukee, Oconomowoc, Hartland, Sussex, Mukwonago, the Village of Waukesha and the Town of Genesee.
Common questions
